Terms of Use
Published and effective: 1 October 2026
1. About these terms
These Terms of Use govern access to S Identify Africa at sidentifyafrica.com and the associated verification portal and APIs, including access through secureidverify.ng during the domain transition. The service is operated by S Identify Verification Technologies Ltd (“S Identify Africa”, “we”, “us” or “our”). These terms apply to this service; they do not govern unrelated Jankado platforms.
By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these terms. If you act for an organisation, you must be authorised to bind it. Read our Privacy Policy alongside these terms. A separate signed service agreement may set additional requirements and takes priority where it expressly addresses a conflicting provision. Mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.
2. Eligibility and account security
Account holders must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to enter into an agreement. Provide accurate, complete and current account information and keep it updated. We may require identity and business checks before granting access to particular services.
Protect your password, access tokens and API credentials. Limit access to authorised staff and notify support promptly if you suspect compromise or unauthorised activity. You are responsible for your authorised users and use of your credentials, subject to our own responsibilities for security and applicable law.
3. Services and verification results
Available services may include NIN and BVN checks, facial matching, business or document checks, verification reports and API access. Availability, required information, fees and permitted uses depend on the specific service and your account permissions. Only services actually offered in your portal or agreed contract are included.
Results reflect the information returned by the relevant source and the checks performed at the time of the request. Records can be incomplete, outdated or unavailable, and a facial match can produce an incorrect match or rejection. A successful check does not guarantee that a person or business is trustworthy or that a transaction is free from fraud.
Use results as part of an appropriate review process. A verification report or identity-and-consent certificate records the checks described in it; it is not a legal opinion, credit approval or guarantee of an agreement’s enforceability.
4. Lawful use and identity information
You must have a lawful purpose, authority and applicable lawful basis for every check. Obtain information lawfully, provide required notices and obtain consent where required, unless a documented legal exception applies. Accepting these terms does not provide consent on behalf of the person being checked.
Submit only information needed for the selected service. Where a workflow requires a live selfie, do not substitute another person’s image or misrepresent their participation. Protect downloaded reports and share results only with recipients authorised for the stated purpose.
Do not use the service for unlawful surveillance, harassment, identity theft, impersonation, unauthorised disclosure, fraudulent applications or discriminatory decisions prohibited by law. Do not probe accounts, bypass access controls, scrape identity records or exploit errors. We may request evidence of your authority and restrict checks while investigating misuse.
5. API access
Use only documented endpoints and the permissions granted to your account. Keep tokens on systems you control and avoid exposing credentials or identity information in public code, logs or browser scripts. Observe applicable rate limits and service-specific requirements.
Handle validation failures, insufficient balance and unavailable services in your integration. Do not assume a timeout means that a request was not processed; check the transaction reference or contact support before retrying a chargeable request. Internal endpoints are not public API entitlements.
We may change endpoints or access requirements. Where practicable, we will communicate material changes affecting existing integrations. Emergency security restrictions may take effect immediately.
6. Fees and wallet funding
Applicable fees are shown in the portal, API pricing information or your agreed contract. Review them before requesting a service. Sufficient wallet balance may be required and service charges may be deducted when a request is processed according to the stated service conditions.
The verification wallet records funds available to purchase platform services. It is not presented as a bank account or investment product. Funding and refunds are processed through the payment methods available in the platform, currently including Paystack and Squadco, subject to provider requirements and availability.
Keep your payment reference. If payment is deducted but your wallet is not credited, contact support so we can reconcile the transaction. Do not fund the wallet using stolen payment details or funds you are not authorised to use.
7. Refunds and transaction disputes
Contact support promptly if you identify a duplicate charge, technical error or a paid service that was not delivered. Include your account details, transaction reference and a clear explanation. Reporting within 48 hours helps investigation, but this requested window does not extinguish statutory rights or prevent a later complaint from being considered.
Completed verification requests generally cannot be undone. A change of mind or an unfavourable verification result does not, by itself, establish that the service failed. We assess refund requests against the service description, payment records and applicable consumer law. Refunds or reversals will be provided where required by law or where our investigation establishes an eligible duplicate charge, error or non-delivery.
Approved refunds are normally processed within 7 to 14 working days, subject to payment-provider processing. We will explain material delays. Refunds are returned to the original payment source or credited to the platform wallet, as appropriate to the transaction and agreed resolution; we do not redirect refunds to unrelated third parties.
Unused wallet balances and account closure requests will be reviewed separately, subject to legitimate deductions, reconciliation and applicable law. These terms do not waive rights under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act. You may refer unresolved consumer complaints to the FCCPC.
8. Identity-owner notifications and institutional exceptions
Where identity-owner SMS alerts are enabled for a service, we may attempt an additional notification after a successful NIN or BVN check using an available identity-owner number. Such alerts do not contain the NIN, BVN or verification result. Availability and delivery depend on the workflow, number and provider; alerts may be paused or unavailable. An alert is not a substitute for the requester’s required notice or consent.
An institution seeking to withhold or delay an enabled alert must obtain our written approval and sign an Institutional Notification Exception Addendum identifying the approved purpose, services, scope and period. Corporate registration, an employee title or a request alone does not create an exception. We may decline, suspend or revoke an exception.
The institution remains responsible for each check’s lawful basis, required notice or consent, use of results and supporting evidence. An exception does not remove the identity owner’s rights or our legal obligations. Detailed obligations and any allocation of liability must be set out in the signed addendum; these terms do not themselves grant an exception.
9. Third parties and intellectual property
We use third-party verification sources, payment providers and technical services to deliver particular workflows. Their availability and source records can affect results. Separate third-party services may have their own terms and privacy notices. We remain responsible for our own obligations and selection and use of service providers under applicable law.
Our branding, software and website content belong to us or our licensors. Your account gives you permission to use the service for authorised purposes, not ownership of its software or branding. Do not reproduce, distribute or modify protected material without permission, except as allowed by law.
10. Service availability and liability
We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. Maintenance, source outages and connectivity problems may affect service. We will address reported faults and provide updates where practicable.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control, or loss to the extent caused by your unlawful use, inaccurate submissions or failure to protect credentials. Nothing excludes or limits liability for our own breach of law or agreement, negligence, fraud, security failure, or any duty that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Misuse and account suspension
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address suspected fraud, security risks, unauthorised checks, unpaid charges, legal requirements or a material breach of these terms. We will provide an explanation and opportunity to resolve the issue where lawful and practicable; urgent restrictions may take effect without advance notice.
You may stop using the service and request account closure. Closure does not remove outstanding legitimate obligations or require deletion of records we must lawfully retain. Wallet reconciliation and privacy requests remain subject to the relevant provisions above and our Privacy Policy.
12. Disputes and changes
These terms are governed by Nigerian law. Contact support first so we can investigate a dispute. If unresolved, the parties may seek mediation in English in Bauchi, Nigeria, or another agreed location or remote format. This does not prevent regulatory complaints, access to competent courts or urgent protective relief.
We may update these terms and communicate material changes through appropriate service channels. The updated page will show its publication date. Changes apply as described in the notice, subject to applicable law. Where fresh consent is required, we will seek it separately.
